The Whatnots Shop – Yard Sale, an Absolute Success !

Recently the young entrepreneur, Atiya Zubair – The owner of the very famous brand ‘The Whatnots Shop’ organized a virtual event over Facebook, which gathered millions of likes and responses. The event as a whole gained an ultimate response from the residents of Saudi Arab.
The idea behind the happening was to give out discounted products from various lines of the brand in a manner that provides the comfort of being and attending the event for all the customers.
This one week Gala started on the 21^st of March and stretched till the 28^th of the month. An Album with the images and description of all the included articles were posted on the event page.
Avon Cosmetic and Beauty products, Artificial Jewelry, Italian Dough Jewelry, Nail Art supplies, Stitched and Un-stitched Suits and more were included.
The online store promises to organize such successful and accomplishing events in the near future too.

The Whatnots Shop gets Micro-Sited

With a new surprise almost every week for the fans, the Whatnots Shop inaugurated their Facebook Page with Micro-Site. I was honored to review the features this week!

To start off, the page now has a total of 6 new tabs added. Each tab allows you to go through the whole page, check out the galleries, order and provide feedback without wasting your time.

Every tab added is loaded within seconds and then you can simply sit back and order your fav’s like Crochet items, Nail art supplies and much more with just a few clicks.  

The ‘Welcome’ Tab gives out an introduction to all the new users so that they can get the hints of what the online store offers. It gives you the access to the galleries which lead you to the Jewelry line, their nail art and handmade crafts and their signature items to which they are famous of, Crochet. Scrolling a bit further you will find the ‘Reviews’ and ‘Order now’ tab that directs you to other designated tabs .

The ‘Review Tab’ simply allow you to write your comments in the given box and provide feedback for your orders. And just for the record, the tab is bubbling with compliments!

Moving on to the ‘Order here’ tab. The page gives you a form to fill so that you can simply place the order, with all the requirements needed and then is automatically delivered to the owner for further questions and details.

The Page has a total of three galleries that I have mentioned above so you won’t get bored clicking and scrolling down to see the options available. After the images load and you can simply click through your choice of pieces and enjoy the work the shop presents.

The Whatnots Shop – Hand Jewels

On the 30^th of May Whatnots Shop launched another successful line that already got an immense response from the fans. Shipped from abroad, the collection embraces a variety of hand cuffs, earrings and rings. 

The cuff line features an array of Stretch, Beaded, Chain and Charm bracelets liberated with colors. The assortment allows every individual to pick one that suits them the best.

The Cocktail rings are the core of ‘the charm around your finger’; studded with heavy stones and bronze metal carvings. The collection also includes the well-worn Multi finger rings embellished with rhinestones and metal base to look chic yet classic.

 You will definitely want to get a glimpse of it, if you are looking for a splash of color or a twinkling jewel on your wrist!

August 22^nd, 2011 the date when an idea came and passion was finally brought to life, the day when one of the most successful online shops ‘The Whatnots Shop’ was founded.  Recently I had the honor to have a bit of chat with the owner, Atiya Zubair. I was completely surprised to know that nothing was planned unlike any other business. 'It all started on a completely normal day. One night I started looking up for different and unique things. While doing my normal Google search for handmade things I came across a site that caught my attention quickly. The reason behind that was this site had different crochet items like bookmarks, tissue covers, coasters, baby sweater and many more...'

However the vision of having and creating something was always there from the start. “I would say it is ‘The Journey to My Dream’ I always wanted to start something of my own…I didn’t even know when the right time was or how to do it…”

With just a glimpse of this website an idea structured in her mind creating a trend- A trend of bringing up crochet  and creating trinkets, mobile covers and bookmarks and now after approximately an year, customers have been ordering their own designed products. Her biggest advantage was her mother who knew the art well, 'For as long as I can remember she had yarn and needles in her hands she made mainly baby blankets and place mats, but was talented enough to make anything.'

Within a few hours the first order came up and since then there Facebook inbox is loaded with orders.  The shop that started with only 300 customers has now reached a milestone of 2000 in just 8 months.

The response was not only from the capital – Riyadh but across the Kingdom so they decided to extend the branches by shipping. The dealing spread and now they have been shipping to UAE and Pakistan. One of the major help, as I reckon it at least, is the Social Networking sites. Facebook, Twitter and Blogger are the sites where Whatnots is trying to get attention of most of her fans. 'We manage our online shop through our Facebook page. All pictures of the items are categorized in different albums so that if any person is finding some particular thing then he/she can can look up for that specific album and get all the related stuff in that single album. And the good thing is that now we can also deliver the orders across Riyadh too for those who are unable to pick their orders but they also have to bear some delivery charges.'

Luck and Passion were needed to change this dream into reality. We hope that ‘The Whatnots Shop’ gets a larger response this year and the future, and gets shipping across the globe.
